What a terrrific way to start 2007 right? The first weekend of ’07 and i got to spend it with this red-head BMW Z4 M Roadster. One of the most wonderful cars i have ever driven by far. Took some photos for memories of such a wonderful drive. (Made even more special with my beautiful companion)
Hands tremble, legs go wobbly, throats go dry and an increase in heart beat rate… What a wonderful machine.
One of the most memorable moments?
Running through the expressway tunnels, roof down with the engine singing her most sonorous song.
Such experiences will never be forgotten.

A fresh new start for a fresh new year! BMW-SG is having one of their regular drives around our sunny island. Ending with some nice dim-sum for lunch! Find out more here!
Only in HongKong

My 4th trip up and 2nd trip this year. Though i had to work through the 1st and 2nd night finishing my Volvo article, everything else about the trip was fantabulous. Lovely weather, Great food and Fantastic company set in a the most wonderful location this side of Asia. (Outside Japan of course…)

Managed to make my pilgrimage to that all important store, Model Car Expo! Great stuff they had this time round, but sadly, i had other things in mind for my money and had to drag myself out of the store before i spend my money. There was one car i regret not picking up, the Kyosho Fiat 131 Abarth. The subject matter already made interesting with the always beautiful Alitalia Rally colors, the quality of the model is top notch and at Kyosho’s price range, superb value. It will surely be a future classic in everyone’s collections in year’s to come. My guess is, prices will rise for such a wonderfully made model. Silly me for not grabbing the car… Can’t find it locally.
Not as easy as it seems?

Off to HongKong!!! But of course, first things first… Have to get my job done, as mentioned previously, i just got a new stint as a car reviewer. My tight schedule did not really allow me time to do my writeup as i was due to fly off just 2days after my maiden drive. So i figured i’d write the article on the plane.
Big mistake… Why???
Budget airline space constraints… Because our trip was planned rather late, all other airlines were already full, so the only alternative was a budget airline. No biggie i thought, the last budget flight i took to HongKong had great legroom. Turned out, i was wrong about that this time. Minimal legroom, no food and no water. What’s worst, was the fact that with the food tray folded out, space was so tight my laptop’s screen couldn’t fold out properly. Which pretty much ruined my view of the screen.
Interesting new part-time job…

Just before flying off to HongKong for a long overdue break, i managed to snag a fantastic part-time job opportunity. A business magazine editor was looking for a freelance writer. Now, you’ll ask, what can be so interesting about writing for a business magazine? Well, the very simple reason why it’s so interesting is that i’ll be writing about cars. That’s right! I’m going to be a small-time car reviewer! (The magazine in question? It’s a brand new magazine, called ‘The Executive’) It’s pretty much a dream job prospect isn’t it? Drive cars around, hurl them, abuse them, use them and end of the day, send them back to the dealership and do a writeup. Sounds easy? Maybe… maybe not, but, hey, i’m not complaining.
BMW SG D&D / Charity Drive

Throughout the months leading up to December, i was kept pretty busy with a number of other administrative members of BMW-SG. Putting together our first ever charity drive, timing it to happen on the same day as our annual D&D. The amount of work spent behind the scenes putting everything together was alot more then what everyone probably expected. This in addition to the fact that everyone else has their own day job. To say it was tough is an understatement. Though participation turnout could have been alot better, it was indeed, a real learning experience to be part of such an event.
On the day itself, participants turned up to decorate their very own rides with prizes going to the best dressed vehicle. (1st prize? an LCD TV!) Sadly, non of the admin members could join in… I sure wld love to have a brand new TV in my room…
Following the decorations and fanfare, we drove through various parts of town to raise awareness for the Breast Cancer Foundation. The drive ended at a local country club for everyone to join in for a rather nice dinner.
It would have been fun if more members turned up though, but i guess it was a case of a few quality members making the night a really memorable one. It was a nice way to wrap up 2006 for BMW-SG… And for me? A nice end in anticipation of a wonderful holiday in HongKong.
BMW SG Mass photoshoot

Back in September of 2006, we managed to get quite a number of members to turnup for a local BMW-SG photoshoot. Reasons for this shoot were kept confidential till many months later. A book was in it’s infant stages, waiting to be launched.
Here are some shots from the day of the shoot.

Much has happened here in the last few months since my last post (again..) , all work and no play makes me a rather sad person… so there u’ll see my getup for Halloween… More updates coming in very quickly (or as soon as photobucket sorts out their slow loading issues :S )
