BMW-SG Photoshoots/Meetups Weekend ( A short narrative on 2 days full of activities)

Phew! What a weekend it has been for the local BMW commnunity! 2 days worth of photoshoots, a late night meetup at Yishun Dam and the official end of the month gathering at Kallang all rolled into the short span of 2 days. It sure was hectic but it sure was great fun. Such enthusiasm in the club is something we all should be extremely proud of. From climbing up and down lorries to running around under the hot sun. We’ve couldn’t have done it without all of the members’ support. Big thanks to everyone for turning up and to everyone for sharing our passion.

Saturday afternoon kicked things off with a classics meetup and gathering for a small mini photoshoot. It was hot and it was sunny but we still managed to get a few drivers to come down. Sadly, our cars are a dying breed in this fair country, with many going off into the great big scrapyard in the sky. We did a few rounds of trial and error arrangements to get in some shots, and i would say in the end, i think we did a good job. I’m extremely happy that you guys all turned up.
In the evening, Yishun dam was packed! But… not with anyone we knew, i guess most people would have plans for saturday night already. But still, quite a few turned up and we all had a nice chat. Big thanks to the E36 bunch for turning up. U guys have presence! Great cars with great personalities and fun drivers to talk to. It was the first time i organised an event of such sorts, and though the turnout was not as i expected, the fact that u guys supported me is something i will always remember. E36s rock. (As well as the Jalan Kayu food soon after, best to stock up on food for the following day’s activities)

Sunday arrived with a slight hint of a drizzle, but that cleared up soon after. Much to the relief of all the E90 drivers who were all going to have their photoshoot during the afternoon. A number of the members had their dim-sum lunch together before going down to the photoshoot event at Marina South. I was late and missed most of the earlier shots, but it was clear that these were a bunch of very fun and enthusiastic owners. Very nice meeting all of you and hope my 16year old car didn’t look too out of place amongst the younger crowd. Big thanks to Michelle for organsiing such an event, it must have been quite stressful but the end results speak for themselves. What a great turnout.

Following the photoshoot, the E90s all convoyed down to Kallang for the end of month meetup. The weather was getting kind of hazy and most drivers were already melting under the afternoon sun during the photoshoot. A number ran off to Macdonald’s for drinks. All in all, it was an extremely fruitful weekend, full of fun, though there was too much sun and in the end, we all had to run.

What’s coming up in a week’s time? Euro-Van club’s Charity Drive. I sure hope our members will respond as enthusiastically as they did during these past 2 days. Big Thumbs up for everyone in BMW-SG. You guys show what a car club is all about, the wonderful people that make it up.
